A Cleaner Drain Starts With the Right Process

A dirty or slow drain can collect hair, food particles, soap residue, grease, and other buildup. We inspect the drain first, clean accessible buildup, rinse the area, and check the water flow before we finish.

Our 6-Step Drain Cleaning Process

Here’s what happens from the moment we look into the drain to the last water test. Same order, every time.

Inspect the Drain

We start by checking the drain and the area around it.
We look for visible hair, food debris, soap residue, grease, standing water, odors, and other buildup. We also check how the water is flowing.
This first look helps us decide how to approach the cleaning

Look before we clean

Remove Visible Buildup

Next, we remove accessible debris from the drain opening.
This may include hair, food particles, soap residue, grease, and other material that has collected around the opening.
We remove what we can instead of simply pushing it farther into the drain.

Remove the source

Clean the Drain

Once the visible debris is removed, we clean the accessible parts of the drain.
We apply the appropriate drain-safe cleaning solution to help loosen remaining residue. We then work through the drain opening to remove loosened buildup.

Clean the accessible area

Rinse & Flush

After cleaning, we rinse the drain and flush away loosened residue.
We watch the water as it moves through the drain. This helps us check whether the water is flowing normally after cleaning.

Check the flow

Clean the Surrounding Area

A clean drain should not leave a dirty sink, shower, or surrounding surface.
We wipe the area around the drain and remove any residue left during the cleaning.

Finish the surface

Test & Final Check

Before we finish, we check the drain one more time.
We run water through the drain and look for slow flow, standing water, or visible buildup. If something still needs attention, we address it before finishing.

Ready to finish

What Products Do We Use for Drain Cleaning?

  • Drain-safe cleaning solutions
  • Enzyme-based cleaners
  • Surface cleaners
  • Disinfecting cleaners
  • Clean water

We choose products based on the surface and the type of buildup. We do not use harsh chemicals simply to make a drain appear clean.
